Seven Springs Vineyard ‘Anden’ Pinot Noir – Wine & Spirits – 93 Points
This comes from the oldest, own-rooted blocks at Seven Springs. In slow decline from phylloxera. they produce small clusters, small berries and small yields, which Moorman and Parr fermented as whole clusters and aged in new oak. This wine is tightly wound but all the elements are there: heady spice notes of licorice and bergamot, a core of black-cherry fruit limned with minerals. The fruit grows more assertive with air, suggesting that the stem spice will integrate with cellar time.
