Mitch Einhorn is a passionate (and well equipped!) chef, restaurateur, wine retailer, and now a wine maker; how did he get here? 20 years in the restaurant business; and he always dreamed of the idyllic country life. Unless you have millions to play with, the gentleman farmer routine is out of reach.
When his good friend, Scott Klann, told him he was finally quitting his day job at a large winery to focus on building a new winery he asked him what he was going to do with all his free time now that he only had one job. Mitch suggested that they work on this little wine project on the side, he said no over and over and over; so Mitch kept nagging him for a year.
The newly formed team created a road map of what they wanted to make and Scott was going to help Mitch get it done. They had a plan for the 2011 vintage. It seems like just yesterday.
